What Can You Do With a Digital Pet Portrait File?

Kaptola currently sells digital products only. A custom portrait is delivered as an artwork file, with no print or frame shipped. The standard portrait file is a 4800 × 6000 pixel PNG in a 4:5 shape. Keep the original and make separate copies for each use.

Printing and framing

An 8 × 10 or 16 × 20 inch print has the same 4:5 shape. A4 does not: choose a border or agree on a crop before printing. Ask the print service which format and color settings it accepts, then upload the original file, not a copy saved from a chat. Calculate print sizes from the pixels.

Digital photo frames

Check the frame's upload method, accepted formats, maximum file size and screen shape in its own instructions before transferring the portrait. If the original PNG is too large or unsupported, export a smaller JPEG copy from the original. Preview whether a wide frame adds borders or cuts into the pet's ears.

Phone and desktop backgrounds

The 4:5 portrait may not match your screen. Check the screen's dimensions; choose a crop or a fit-with-borders setting rather than stretching the image. On a phone, leave room for the clock and icons. Kaptola's dedicated wallpaper listings have separate specifications and can be prepared for a stated phone model; check the selected listing before ordering.

Sharing a copy

Send a viewing copy by message or email, and keep the full-size PNG for printing. Social and messaging services may resize images; inspect the recipient's downloaded pixel dimensions before using that copy for a print. For a public post, make a separate crop and consider the recipient's privacy.

Giving the file

You can give the final file, load it onto a compatible frame, or arrange a local print. Confirm the recipient can open the file and knows that Kaptola sends no physical item. For a date-specific gift, plan for the custom preview and possible correction.

Resizing without losing the master

Make each smaller version from the original. Reducing its pixel dimensions discards detail; enlarging that reduced copy later does not recover the original detail. Cropping removes part of the composition too; inspect the edges before saving.
