What do I receive?

The current Kaptola collection is digital. A custom portrait arrives as an artwork file; wallpapers are files for your phone; coloring books are printable PDFs. No physical print, frame or book is shipped. The number and type of files vary by design, so check the product’s specifications.

How do I send my pet’s photo?

Place your order through the matching Etsy listing, then follow its photo instructions. A sharp, well-lit image that shows the face, eyes and distinctive markings is the best starting point. For a two-pet portrait, separate photos can be used. The ready-made Yorkie coloring book needs no photo.

Can you include two pets?

Yes. The two-cat portrait and two-dog portrait are designed to combine two pets from photos, even when they have not posed together. Other designs may have different limits; see their individual listing.

What size should I order for printing?

First check your file’s pixel dimensions and 4:5 shape. Both 8 × 10 and 16 × 20 inches, or 20 × 25 and 40 × 50 cm, match without a ratio crop. A 40 × 50 cm print is its own metric size, not exactly 16 × 20 inches. A4, 30 × 40 cm and 50 × 70 cm need a crop, borders or a specially prepared layout. Is 300 DPI required?

Check the file’s pixels against your intended print size. A 4800 × 6000 px file gives 300 PPI at 16 × 20 inches and about 305 PPI at 40 × 50 cm, with no ratio crop in either case. A 300-DPI metadata label does not change those pixel counts or guarantee print quality. See the calculation and crop examples.

What is the standard portrait file?

Kaptola’s current standard for pet portraits is one PNG file at 4800 × 6000 pixels in a 4:5 ratio. If you need another proportion, send Kaptola an Etsy message with the exact size you want. Phone wallpapers and coloring books have their own file specifications.

What size should I choose for a phone wallpaper?

Some wallpaper designs have a standard size, but phone screens differ. Tell Kaptola your exact phone model so the finished wallpaper can be prepared for its screen.

Can I ask for changes? How long does delivery take?

For a personalized portrait listing that includes a preview, Kaptola sends it through Etsy Messages for your approval before preparing the final file. You can discuss minor corrections at that stage. A ready-made digital product, such as the Yorkie coloring book, is a finished download and has no custom portrait preview. Check the selected Etsy listing for its preview, revision, response and delivery terms. A stated preview time is not the final delivery time.

Which custom portrait should I choose?

Start with the example style closest to what you want, then check whether that Etsy listing accepts your pet count and the format you need. For instance, a two-pet composition needs a listing designed for two pets; a phone wallpaper has different specifications from a standard 4:5 portrait. Ask before buying if the fit is unclear.

What should I check before buying a portrait as a gift?

Get permission to use a suitable pet photo, decide how you will present the digital file, and read the selected listing’s preview and delivery terms. If a date is close, ask Kaptola whether it is feasible before ordering. Allow time to inspect any preview, discuss a minor correction if offered, and arrange your own print or frame if desired. No physical product is shipped.

Is a preview a free trial?

No. For a personalized listing that provides a preview, it comes after an Etsy purchase and before the final high-resolution file. The listing governs corrections, delivery and any cancellation terms. The preview is a chance to check local details, not an unconditional option to cancel or change the entire style.

Is the custom portrait hand-painted?

No. Kaptola uses an AI-generated digital workflow reviewed by the owner. The reference check, selected listing style and listing-specific preview are the relevant service steps. A self-service app may also allow editing and high-resolution export; compare the actual workflow and file specifications.
