When to Order a Custom Pet Portrait as a Gift

The delivery is digital, but a custom portrait still takes several steps. Plan around the reference photo, style choice, preview and possible minor correction, not parcel transit. Kaptola currently sells digital products only.

A gift-planning sequence

1. Choose the occasion and how you will present the file: as a digital gift, a print you arrange locally, or on a compatible frame. Check the recipient's frame or print size if relevant.
2. Find a photo that clearly shows the pet's eyes, ears and distinctive markings. For a surprise, ask someone who already has permission to share the photo. If the favorite expression is in a weak photo, add a sharper image for the hidden details. Use the reference-photo checklist.
3. Compare example styles and choose a listing that already fits the gift. Confirm that the listing supports the number of pets and the file you need. See the style guide.
4. Read that listing's current Etsy terms for photo submission, preview, revisions and delivery. Ask Kaptola about your date before ordering if it is close; do not assume an expedited option.
5. Place the Etsy order, send the reference and state which photo is primary. When a custom listing includes a preview, leave time to inspect likeness and request a small local correction if needed. Then allow for the final file and any printing or frame setup you arrange. Follow the order stages.

Match the plan to the occasion

A birthday or adoption anniversary has a fixed date, so work backward from when you need the final file and any print you arrange. A housewarming gift may allow more flexibility but needs a frame or wall size if you plan to print. For a holiday surprise, secure the reference photo early so finding it does not consume the time reserved for preview and correction. These are planning examples, not Kaptola production deadlines.

If the date is close

Tell Kaptola the exact date and whether you need the final digital file or a separately arranged physical print by then. Ask what is feasible under the selected listing. A preview time is not a final-file deadline, and Kaptola offers no stated rush promise here. If the schedule cannot be confirmed, avoid promising the recipient a finished portrait on that date.
